Wright designed 26 exquisite art glass types for Unity Temple comprising over 100 individual windows and including some of the largest windows from his Prairie period. Many of these important features are cracked, bowed and are in need of extensive professional conservation.
Much of the beautifully modulated wood banding throughout the building is in need of refinishing and the original magnesite floors – a signature feature - are cracked from heaving and require extensive and expensive restoration.
To date, UTRF has raised more than 3.3 million dollars to complete specific projects throughout the building, but recently completed Master Plan places the cost of completing a total restoration at over 11 million and additional monies are needed to create necessary endowments that will sustain the building and our mission. Your help is needed to insure that this masterpiece is available for future generations. Learn how you can help.
